2014 Term 4 News Letter

OOSH and Vacation Care

Our children enjoyed their last busy holiday program in October. The movies, bowling, parks and museums are firm favourites. Next holidays will be hot so there should be swimming every week. You will need to book soon to join our band of happy children for the three weeks of vacation care from 6 January to 28 January 2014.

Thank you Josie.

Josie  Sykes (diploma childcare services) as OOSH Manager, is responsible for the safety and management of your children  every afternoon and during school hols. She conducts herself with warmth and professionalism and the children love her. She is now ably assisted by Michelle Fair every afternoon (cert III childcare services) and Ailsa Carr now and then. I also thank John, our second bus driver, from Monday to Friday – who doesnt only drive between 11 different schools but keeps our buses mechanically sound.

we still have room for bookings on mondays and fridays. Tuesday, wednesdays and thursdays are our busiest days with 28 and 29 children most weeks – so you need to book early for those days.

Lots of room in the mornings. I am sure there are many families out there needing care and delivery to school before work so give us a call.

Most families choose to pay a set amount by direct debit/deposit. this is a simple process and any credits left at the end of term can either be returned in cash or used to pay for vacation care or the following term.

Computer program and Centrelink

We take extreme care entering your used hours at the end of the week.  the hours you use are then uploaded to the centrelink computers where your CCB is calculated.  two days later (monday or tuesday) after centrelink have adjusted your percentages and tax rebate, they return your updated data. we then check your payments and print your account. Please note –   any accounts printed before their return from centrelink, may require  adjustment later – this includes payment on the day of service and quotes in advance.

New General Manager

Thank you Ailsa. I am stepping down as general manager and handing over the reins to Ailsa Carr. She will continue to keep the computer programs for both our businesses running smoothly (centrelink oosh system,, Myob accounting system, Harmony home childcare system), and look after our tax and wage systems. She will now attend to policy and funding and recruitment.

I am replacing the natural grass in the rear playground with an artificial grass. I hope it is as good as promised. the natural grass had difficulty standing up to the constant pounding of 30 pairs of small feet.

Family Friend Home Services

continues to provide professional family friendly care assisting albury wodonga & district families in their own homes.

Thank you Dianne. Dianne Mitchell is our loyal and efficient Home Services Manager. She has the sometimes frustrating but always rewarding job of providing in-home care for our many customers as well as coordinating our wonderful field staff of 35. She also keeps the office and the rest of us running smoothly.

Looking forward to a happy rewarding 4th term.

Kind regards

Wendy Henderson – Owner/Director
